I know, I know…it has been a while since my last post.
After 271 days or 9 months from the date the site was cut / scraped, we
reached Settlement and received the keys to our house in late-February. The
Settlement would have occurred a month earlier if it were not for the 2 weeks
of continuous rain in mid-to-late August last year and the 3-week Christmas
break that some of the tradespeople had.
Overall, we are happy with the quality of the build. A few teething
issues though, some expected, some unexpected and I will do a separate post
when we finish settling into our house.
For now, I hope you enjoy the pictures of our house.

DeleteHouse Looks Great! - Didn't get any champagne flutes with our Phoenix
ReplyDeleteHi, your house looks great. I just have a question. Did you use full strength Gnu Tan? Our house was finished in December 2013 and our main house colour is Gnu Tan Full Strength and the Cladding is Full Strength Hoggs Bristle. We however have a colourbond roof in Paperbark and I am finding the house is just too beige :-( Especially at the back as the Hoggs Bristle Cladding stops at the front of the house, so the house at the back is all Gnu Tan with Paperbark Roof which is also on the roof of the patio. So as you can imagine its a lot of that similar colour, so theres not much contrast at the back which is disappointing. I'm not sure if theres anything I can do to fix it other that repainting?! grrrr! Im really disappointed. HOw are you finding the Gnu Tan?
ReplyDeleteYes full strength Gnu Tan. We used Coal coloured tiles so had the contrast. On retrospect, we could have considered dark coloured window frames. In your case, I suppose the only way is to have dark coloured shutters for windows so they provide an element of contrast when viewed from outside. You could consider reprinting, but that is an expensive exercis
ReplyDeleteIs this the same house? https://ournolan.wordpress.com/tag/daviscapes/
ReplyDeleteNo, that's a Nolan, while ours is a Phoenix. However, both have the same facade.
